All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease, wax, oil, laitance, curing compounds and all other contaminants that likely to affect the adhesive bonding. Highly porous substrates must be primed with Bostik Hydroment 425 prior to tiling. Concrete should be allowed to cure for at least 28 days and cement render 7 days prior to tiling. A wood float finish is preferred. Smooth steel trowel finished concrete must be mechanically abraded to increase adhesion. If apply on waterproofing surface, the waterproofing membranes must have dried in accordance with manufacturer’s instruction.

Movement joints must be incorporated in the tile layout in accordance with AS 3958.1-2007 clauses to 6

25 kg of Maxiflex MY powder requires 6.0 to 6.5 liters of clean water, which produces 23 litres of mixed product. Add the measured amount of clean water into a clean container and gradually pour Maxiflex MY into the water while continuosly mix using electric paddle mixer. Mixed thoroughly until homogeneous, smooth paste consistency is obtained. Let it stand for 2 minutes and mix again. The adhesive is now ready to use.

Apply the mixed adhesive to the prepared substrate using the appropriate notched trowel for the size of tile being laid. A minimum of 1 mm bed thickness for walls and 3 mm for floors must be achieved. Ensured that the bedded tiles are fully supported by the adhesive with no voids underneath or behind. Lay tiles onto the adhesive before it skins. The adhesive may also need to be applied to the back of the tiles to accommodate the required levels. Do not disturb tiles until the adhesive has dried. Commence grouting after 24 hours when tilework is firm.
